The Situation in Sudan:
*Civilians in the Darfur region are being killed by government-backed militias. |
*Over 200,000 have been killed and more than 2,500,000 have been displaced. |
*The African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) is funded through 3/31. |
*AMIS needs to be funded while the UN peacekeeping mission can be put together. |
